We had a wonderful Youth Camp ‘LOL’ – lots of learning, lots of love and lots of laughter at Varkala Sivagiri, Kerala from 27th July to 30th July. Around 38 youth who are mainly associated with cultural classes organized by Bala and his team at Chennai participated in the camp.
The camp site was so picturesque with a lake behind, crossing which there is a beautiful exclusive beach and vast expanse of ocean. The resort too was very compact with all modern amenities. On the whole it was four unforgettable days, one with nature in God’s own country!
We took Avvayar’s Aathichudi, Bharathiar’s Puthiya Aathichudi and Atma Vichara Aathichudi. Apart from that there were many interesting activities, Boating at Munroe Island, Kayaking in the Mangrove village and a Kathakali performance by professional artists. As usual the camp ended with Guru Paduka Pooja. The youngsters enthusiastically participated and thoroughly enjoyed the camp. The detailed report would appear on our next Smaranamrutam issue.
Lakshmi Priya, the coordinator of the camp with the guidance and support from Bala and the senior youth team did an excellent job in coordinating this event. The devotees of Atma Vidya Mandir and few other well wishers liberally contributed towards the camp and made this enriching experience possible for youngsters. We sincerely appreciate and thank them all.
